YADIS (Yet Another Over Used Acronym)

Google groups and numlock manage to continue to hate me. Previewed a post twice and it had line breaks and paragraphs, but then it stripped them all when I posted. bleh, hate.

Anyway, was announcing what Brad, Johannes Ernst, and myself. Started as finding a way for OpenID and LID to play togeather, but we realized what we were building was a bottom-up, light-weight interoperability framework for personal digital identities since we addressed the problems in a quite general manner. We have written a document that describes the base YADIS protocol (http://www.yadis.org/), and outlines how to use it together with LID and OpenID. This document is largely still a work in progress, proposing how different existing identity systems can work together; feedback is welcomed. The YADIS codename is also not designed to be user facing and is expected to be changed as this project further progresses.

w00t, go marketing paragraph :P
