So I Finally Gave In...

and got an iPhone. Ended up with too many times this week where I needed internet or email during the day and didn't have (or want to pull out) my laptop. I've also been wanting a GSM phone since I no longer have one from work. So picked up an iPhone last night, ported my number, and just finished installing a bunch of stuff on it.

I thougt you couldnt install third party software on the iphones. Hmm.. Now that it has an ssh client it might be worth my while to get one now.. :)

It's worth it
I got one after the price drop and I love it. Definitely better than what else is out there. Feeling a little annoyed by the ringtone situation, though.

Re: It's worth it
The ringtone situation will get fixed quickly. Yes Apple has provided ringtone support but you do NOT need to buy ringtones. Check out the MakeiPhoneRingTones app from rogue amoeba (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/utm/posts/Article/MakeiPhoneRingtone-2007-09-11-09-00). Take any unprotected AAC file and drop it on their app. Sync your iPhone and bingo - your own ringtone!
