Bloglines Gets OpenID

TechCrunch beat me to the post, but Bloglines as of this morning now has support for OpenID. Also cool to see OAuth starting to take hold! Good stuff with OpenID consumer and OpenID 2.0 support coming down the pipe as well.

They are a provider, not a consumer, tho.

That's the annoying thing about OpenID, its so much easier to be a provider than a consumer. And every pointy hair chucklehead wants to be a provider, because they think it gives them more control over their users, but none of them are willing to invest the time and resources to be a consumer, because they think they will have less control over "their" users.

Is what I was going to say. I don't have a bloglines acount, can't be bothered, but if they let me login using OpenID I'd use them more often I suspect. Ah well.

So many sites providing an OpenID, so few making logging in with it useful.

Bloglines Consumer
The consumer is coming next. We're (well I am) working on it right now. :)
