The "Open Data Foundation"?!?

Chris Saad, of DataPortability, seems to think I'll be announcing the "Open Data Foundation" tomorrow morning at OSCON. I won't even be at OSCON tomorrow. Go figure.

Apparently TechCrunch is trusting Chris Saad as a source as well. Do I need to post a picture of my airline ticket leaving PDX tomorrow at 8am before OSCON starts?

I am announcing something, which I think is great, at OSCON on Thursday morning, though it isn't the Open Data Foundation. In any case, the goal isn't hype around it; rather a solid community focused on a common goal of supporting the Open Web.

I just loved this entire back and forth, across the internet. Valleywag was just noting that they're often the only news source that bothers to check facts anymore-- amazing, when they're the respectable journalists on the Internet.

Anyway, congratulations on such a fast response everywhere on the tubes.

On an unrelated note, there is certainly some irony to be had that clicking on "lame++" in your tag cloud results in a "no such tag" error.
