The Gaudi architecture including especially the Sagrada Familia is a must-see. The Mercat Boqueria is a great market alongside Las Ramblas, where you can get everything from prepared bocadillos (sandwiches) to fresh fruit and vegetables to half a cow in the butcher section. There are some fine seafood restaurants down near the beach, and Les Quinze Nits was one of our favourite places to eat.

If the weather is good (wait, what am I saying, this is the Mediterranean coast) then you can take the bus north along the coast to one of the many little beach towns.

Park Guell. I'd recommend catching a soccer game if you can, that was one of the highlights for me...

If you're at all into architecture (and maybe even if you're not), you'll love seeing the work of Gaudi in and around Barcelona.

The big draws are Parc Guel and La Sagrada Familia, but do also check out some of his other buildings around town. They're amazing, inside and out.
