This week I was finally really back home which was really nice, though it also meant that my week was incredibly hectic with lots of people to talk to and things to do. This weekend however, has been quite chill.

Friday my series of meetings led me back to Yahoo Brickhouse where I ended up grabbing drinks with the some of the login team as well as MyBlogLog. Was a great way to end a day of bouncing between meetings before heading over to FooBar at Six Apart. After FooBar a group of us went over to the Adaptive Path birthday party, saw a bunch of friends, and ate free tacos from the taco truck they had outside!

Mid-day Saturday, after going for a bike ride, Beau texted me about going up to Santa Rosa for some wine as Gary Vee, Kevin Rose, Tim Ferris, and Robert Scoble were borrowing a vineyard for the day. Beau ended up not going, but by around 5pm I was seeing loads of people heading up there from San Francisco. Threw out a "anybody want a ride?" tweet, picked up Chris, and drove the hour up to De Loach Vineyards; an amazing place out in the middle of nowhere in Sonoma. Scott Beale posted some pics and Gary taped a live episode of his show Wine Library TV while we were there (cell phone quality up on Qik). Had a great night, got back to SF around 4am, and my favorite wine of the evening is their Pinot Noir Green Valley 2006.

Rolled out of bed around noon today and then went over to Trish's for an Easter dinner (never done Easter dinner before) along with a bunch of others from the Belize crew.

A whole group of us including lisa, brad, erinearl, burr86, timmah, nbarkas and I went to karaoke last night. lisa did so awesome that they gave us a CD of her singing Faith!

Getting back into the spirit of personal blogging, I'm taking about two weeks of very much needed vacation right now. Of course this really means I do less work each day versus a real vacation with no computers. Met Marshall Kirkpatrick of ReadWriteWeb yesterday for lunch and a walk with his dog around Mt. Tabor in Portland which was a lot of fun. Definitely the type of "work" that I enjoy during a vacation!

Spent a few days this past week in Sun Valley along with friends from high school. After a ten hour drive which included playing 20-Questions via walkie-talkies between the two cars, we got to our friend's house. The next day I took a crack at skiing for the first time in about ten years. Ended up being what we've decided to call "an adventure". After getting to the top of the mountain, my friend Jamie (who quite graciously stuck with me the entire way down) quickly realized that I was in above my head. The reality is that I should have gone to Dollar Mountain as a beginner. So I fail at winter as it took me about five and a half hours to make it down Baldy. On the upside, I don't totally suck at ice skating.

On a plane right now headed to Phoenix. A few years ago I worked on Simple Machines Forum, a free open source PHP forum, along with a team of volunteers around the world. They're having the first team meetup and I'm joining them for the last few days in the Grand Canyon. Should be really cool as I've never been before and from what I'm told its really pretty right now all covered in snow!

So I still haven't figured out what I'm going to go up to Portland for Christmas and New Years. In the past I've spent New Years with friends from high school down at our beach house in Seaside and I think this year we'll stay in Portland instead. Wanting to go up for Christmas as well which turns out to only be a bit over a week away!

Thinking I'll drive again this year, maybe leave Sunday the 23rd and come back Thursday the 3rd. Anyone want to join me in a road trip?

So I'm 21 in a few hours, this is the first time in my life I feel like I'm getting old. Guess I still have 25 to look forward to when car insurance becomes cheaper. If you're in town, you're invited to join for dinner and drinks tomorrow night. Not sure where we're going, but I think a group will leave from Six Apart for dinner so let me know if you want to join and I'll make sure to let you know where we end up. Good weekend with BBQ at scsi's yesterday and then general relaxing today with my roommate unpacking his stuff which includes a handmade clay FireFox logo and Tux painting. My new Roomba 560 arrived today which is totally awesome!

Went diving yesterday with brad and whitaker. Weather was awesome and the ocean was quite calm. Great day for diving! Dove around Butterfly House in Monterey,, first dive was really great (despite having to scale a cliff in scuba gear to get to it) and the second the swell had picked up a bit but we still managed to find a neat kelp forest.

Whitaker and I then cooked some great yellowfin tuna from Whole Foods and oysters on the barbecue. Cooked the fish in a mixture of olive oil, lemon, garlic, butter, salt, and pepper and it turned out really nice. Was a bit beyond seared, but certainly wasn't overcooked.

Been awhile since I've written non-OpenID stuff...

Went hiking this weekend organized by niftybitch along with scsi, brad, erinearl, and others. Was out like 20 minutes past Oakland in the middle of the forest, was pretty much awesome. Was about a 4 mile hike and the weather was great.

Was out in Dulles, VA last week and the whether was crazy. First two days were humid, thunder storming, and hailing. Third day was sprinkling rain like what I'd expect up in Seattle. Got about 45 minutes of sleep on my red-eye flight out Monday night, so Tuesday was largely powered by Red Bull. Conor Cahill barbecued so had dinner at his house along with Paul Madsen, Eve Maler, George Fletcher, and others which was also quite fun.

Been playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii the past week or so. Really liking this game. Is a good balance of traditional Mario with some cool new twists. Good balance of mind puzzles as well in terms of thinking about how to get through a level beyond just the traditional timing jumps.

Headed to FooCamp this weekend, so will be in Sebastapol for the first time. Thought about buying a tent today for camping there, though choices at REI were overwhelming. Thinking I'll do some Amazon.com research tonight and see what I can find.

Went out to Nihon last night for Brad' s birthday along with a whole slew of people. Even learned how to tie a tie and wore one for one of the few times in my life...there is even photographic evidence!

So Scott Kveton has been putting together a planet aggregator for OpenID the past few days and wanted a feed of OpenID post from my blog. LJ didn't have a feature to provide a RSS/Atom feed of a tag view, so I started spreading around my own little bounty to the various LJ developers. burr86 has ended up winning (http://community.livejournal.com/changelog/4352132.html) in far fewer lines than anyone guessed. I guessed 50 lines (so $4 per line) and crucially guessed 20 lines, though Abe did it in 2 lines of code.

In other news, went to anildash's going away party (and birthday party for his wife) last night and then over to Beau's tonight for a homemade sushi party; both were awesome!

Headed to Portland on Monday with groundup for an OpenID/SAML meeting, Mashpit: OpenID, and then Josh (groundup) and I are finalizing selling the business we started a few years ago.

So life has been busy. Was in Austin last Sunday/Monday for ApacheCon US. Long days last week, not a lot of sleep, and then henrylyne's birthday party last night which was a lot of fun.

Headed to Seattle tomorrow and then to Dulles/DC in the evening for the week. Speaking at the DC PHP Conference which is Thursday/Friday. Then meeting up with a friend from college on Saturday before flying back. Spent Friday in Portland wrapping up some stuff as I'm finally selling Boardnation.com.

Looks like I'll have flown 10447mi between last weekend and next. :)

On my way back to SFO, flight is in about an hour and a half.  Was totally dope staying with rustnroses and folk, so much cooler than just in a random hotel.  Currently sitting in the United Red Carpet club, using overpriced T-Mobile wireless, eating cheese, and drinking free booze.  Good start to a 11 hour flight!

Going to be in Portland next weekend, some work though mainly for brad and dina's wedding.  Then a few days of fishing with my uncle.  Will also be back the last week of July and free over the weekend.  Wanted to have a bunch of us go down to the beach, but our house is rented then.  :-\

In London staying with rustnroses and folk for a few days. Need sleep, but my eyes are being lame with my contacts. So computer until I sleep.

Off to Ireland in a few hours, will be there for a week for ApacheCon with jtrevino and his wife, then London for a few days. :)

So not only will I be in London, but the awesome folk and rustnroses have offered for me to crash at their place! Woot!

xb95 sent me a 14 day free trial to Eve Online so when I got home last night, downloaded it. Took a while, but got it installed. Played a little and then went out to a bar with the roommates not too far from here. We hung out there for a while and then they took off to meetup with some other friends at a place that would card. I walked back and played some more Eve. Not far enough into it yet to really know what I think, need to play it more tonight. Slept all day! :)
