This week I was finally really back home which was really nice, though it also meant that my week was incredibly hectic with lots of people to talk to and things to do. This weekend however, has been quite chill.

Friday my series of meetings led me back to Yahoo Brickhouse where I ended up grabbing drinks with the some of the login team as well as MyBlogLog. Was a great way to end a day of bouncing between meetings before heading over to FooBar at Six Apart. After FooBar a group of us went over to the Adaptive Path birthday party, saw a bunch of friends, and ate free tacos from the taco truck they had outside!

Mid-day Saturday, after going for a bike ride, Beau texted me about going up to Santa Rosa for some wine as Gary Vee, Kevin Rose, Tim Ferris, and Robert Scoble were borrowing a vineyard for the day. Beau ended up not going, but by around 5pm I was seeing loads of people heading up there from San Francisco. Threw out a "anybody want a ride?" tweet, picked up Chris, and drove the hour up to De Loach Vineyards; an amazing place out in the middle of nowhere in Sonoma. Scott Beale posted some pics and Gary taped a live episode of his show Wine Library TV while we were there (cell phone quality up on Qik). Had a great night, got back to SF around 4am, and my favorite wine of the evening is their Pinot Noir Green Valley 2006.

Rolled out of bed around noon today and then went over to Trish's for an Easter dinner (never done Easter dinner before) along with a bunch of others from the Belize crew.

Also, check out http://www.hangarmovie.com/. It's a short film directed by a friend from high-school about secret military bases, giant robots, and hidden gold and he did most of the CG using open source stuff!

So I'm 21 in a few hours, this is the first time in my life I feel like I'm getting old. Guess I still have 25 to look forward to when car insurance becomes cheaper. If you're in town, you're invited to join for dinner and drinks tomorrow night. Not sure where we're going, but I think a group will leave from Six Apart for dinner so let me know if you want to join and I'll make sure to let you know where we end up. Good weekend with BBQ at scsi's yesterday and then general relaxing today with my roommate unpacking his stuff which includes a handmade clay FireFox logo and Tux painting. My new Roomba 560 arrived today which is totally awesome!

Been awhile since I've written non-OpenID stuff...

Went hiking this weekend organized by niftybitch along with scsi, brad, erinearl, and others. Was out like 20 minutes past Oakland in the middle of the forest, was pretty much awesome. Was about a 4 mile hike and the weather was great.

Was out in Dulles, VA last week and the whether was crazy. First two days were humid, thunder storming, and hailing. Third day was sprinkling rain like what I'd expect up in Seattle. Got about 45 minutes of sleep on my red-eye flight out Monday night, so Tuesday was largely powered by Red Bull. Conor Cahill barbecued so had dinner at his house along with Paul Madsen, Eve Maler, George Fletcher, and others which was also quite fun.

Been playing Super Paper Mario for the Wii the past week or so. Really liking this game. Is a good balance of traditional Mario with some cool new twists. Good balance of mind puzzles as well in terms of thinking about how to get through a level beyond just the traditional timing jumps.

Headed to FooCamp this weekend, so will be in Sebastapol for the first time. Thought about buying a tent today for camping there, though choices at REI were overwhelming. Thinking I'll do some Amazon.com research tonight and see what I can find.

Went out to Nihon last night for Brad' s birthday along with a whole slew of people. Even learned how to tie a tie and wore one for one of the few times in my life...there is even photographic evidence!


Awake to head over to RSA now.

Got an apartment, moving tomorrow with the help of the wonderful dina, jproulx, and scsi and niftybitch. Get the keys in like two hours, working on packing now. Then next step will be actually finding a roommate...more on that later.

On Caltrian headed south from SFO to Mt. View and I guess a train two ahead of mine hit a car in Redwood City. So no idea how long it will take. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate Bay Area public transit?

I love the suburbs since I can goto Old Navy for clothes, Men's Wearhouse for shoes, Honey Baked Ham for a nice $6 sandwich and salad, and Target all without having to fight for parking!

W00t, went to Japan Town with dub'cizzle and got sushi and sake. mmm, Japanese. Now chillin' on this dope ass couch!

Blue Angels

So out of every bus I've rode when in San Francisco, so far two drivers have ever cared about people getting on the back door; one of them being this morning. I understand that on the double length buses where there are a shit load of people, it makes it faster for people to get on any door possible. The normal buses though, there is no fucking reason for people to do this.

Wait in line to get on, if you don't get a seat maybe you should get in the front of the line vs standing around bitching on your cell phone about why the bus isn't there yet. If you're a stinky bum and you don't have the money to ride the bus, then don't get on the bus through the back door. You don't pay taxes, let alone pay your fare, so you shouldn't be able to ride the fucking bus. People who have the money for the bus and get on the back door to not pay, shame on you even more.

My vote is they put a MUNI police officer on the back of high traffic bus routes where people do this and the first person to get on the back door is escorted off the bus, officer waits for the door to close so others can't get on, and is written a nice ticket that takes a good 30 minutes. Until there is a consequence, no matter how many signs they put on the buses to not get on the back door no one will stop doing it.

So wcu and I bought this couch last night at Ikea. Takes two to three fucking weeks for delivery though. Bleh...Nice ass couch though!

Webzine seems fairly dead today compared to yesterday. Thinking I may take off pretty soon. Need to do laundry and homework when I get home today though. Not looking forward to doing either. Slept like 14 hours last night and still tired. Scuba class next weekend which should kick ass. Also need to do "homework" for that. Need to deal with getting a hotel down there. Think I need to get out of the city every weekend and do something. This weekend hasn't been boring, but not stimulating either. Wish Monterey wasn't so damn far away or there was diving closer. Maybe I'll go for a nice drive this afternoon, except traffic seems sucky. Bleh.
