TheSocialWeb.TV Pilot Episode

Late last week I ventured down to the South Bay and shot the first episode of TheSocialWeb.TV along with John McCrea and Joseph Smarr. All sorts of things have been happening over the past year when it comes to the Social Web (or more generally the Open Web) yet it isn't easy to know what's going on if you're not in the thick of it. So we turned to Gary Vaynerchuck for some inspiration as his daily show Wine Library TV kicks ass and illustrates how social media continues to evolve and the tools to produce and distribute video become easier and easier. The end result, a weekly ten to twenty minute show where we try to break down what's going on and why this stuff matters beyond the technology. As we're always looking for guests, let us know if you're interested in joining us one week to talk about what you're doing with the Social Web.

So with that, the pilot episode of TheSocialWeb.TV: 'Talk to our lawyers...bitch'. We named the pilot after the subtitle used by the Register when describing the flare up between Google and Facebook at Supernova last week over Google Connect which is what we talk about this week.

Good stuff, Dave. The sound seems to wave a bit right and left at times. Faulty mic?

Grats on the new show (this is Brandice, Community Leader @ Viddler.com). Hoping to feature the pilot episode on the front page sometime this week or next!

I also love that you're rocking the old school LJ... I'm still rocking mine (with a little WordPress-integration, but I still do my private blogging at LJ). :)

thesocialweb.tv -- from Mary Trigiani
Excellent, guys. Really enjoyed it. Professional but very accessible. And the time went by fast. Looking forward to the next shew.

Some comments.

John has the best shirt. Dave and Joseph, let's go for some color next time.

I know I came away with a better understanding of the social issue du jour -- thank you.

Nice camera work.

John, impact is not a verb.

Would be great if you could talk a bit more about the purpose of a conference when you mention it.

Will send you guys ideas for guests as they pop up.

Have fun!
